I Just Finished My Training!

I’m a Driving Instructor

Hey, I know, it’s been awhile, but I’ve been really busy. I am so grateful I saw that Mustang driving school. I suppose it is true, there are no accidents or mistakes. I don’t believe that was a coincidence. This career is very meant to be.

I loved every minute of my training. It was a lot of fun. My instructor was an old guy by the name of Walter. He has been in the business for over 30 years. He’s in the process of selling his school and my class was his last instructor training course. I am very lucky to have been in it. His teaching style was very different. When someone would ask a question he would pretend he didn’t know the answer, which of course made the person asking, go and research it themselves. Then they will actually remember. It was funny watching the people who thought he was a dumb dumb, when they were the ones being fooled. Ha Ha.

We had one week in the classroom, learning all of the theory and then the second week was in the car. That was a blast. We would role play. One person would pretend to be the student, the other the teacher. I’m going to be honest here and admit that I, like so many other people, didn’t like the thought of doing the dreaded parallel park. I am a whiz at it now. Funny how we can go for so long avoiding something that really isn’t a big thing if we would just choose to deal with it.

It was kinda sad when it ended. After spending two weeks straight with these people, they start to feel like family and it’s difficult saying goodbye :(

I have already nailed a job. It’s part time to begin with. They want me to refine my craft and they tell me if It is something that I have a knack for they intend to keep me on and increase my hours to full time. I have been riding around in the back seat observing this last week and next week I’ll take my first student out with some in the back seat to observe me for a while. when they feel I’m ready they’ll let me out on my own.

I went from feeling lazy and somewhat worthless to happy, inspired and content in a rather short amount of time. Life is good!
